This reads a fixed set of command shapes rather than free-form language, and always shows what it understood before applying. Anything it cannot parse it refuses instead of guessing.

  • send all groups to matrix 2

Buses can be named or numbered: matrix 2, mtx 2, Broadcast, LR. Sources can be all groups, all channels, a group name, a family like guitars, or channels 4-9.

Mixer configuration

Switching rebuilds the scene from the factory default for that configuration, then re-applies your channel names, stereo settings, colors and bus assignments wherever those channels still exist.

Channels that do not exist in the new configuration lose their settings. Plugin racks from a loaded file are not carried across.

Scene name

Your channel names and bus assignments are written to every scene in the file.

System inventory

Record the computers and I/O boxes this rig uses. The totals are checked against your chosen configuration.

This is recorded as documentation, not as console inventory. Real hardware is identified in the file by Waves-assigned device IDs and by each box's MAC address, so an inventory can only be written for gear that has actually been connected. What you enter here is saved into the scene's notes, carried in the spreadsheet, and used for the channel count check below. It will not make the console see boxes that are not there.

Session notes

Anything you want saved into the file alongside the inventory: patch quirks, who to call, what the spare channels are for. It shows up in the session notes on the console.

A workbook pre-filled with your current channel list. Fill in names, stereo, colors and bus assignments offline, then upload it below. It also carries a sheet for your system inventory and a reference sheet listing every valid value.

Upload a spreadsheet

Accepts .xlsx, .xls and .csv. A workbook downloaded above is recognized automatically and imports names, stereo, colors, buses and inventory in one go. Any other spreadsheet falls back to choosing columns by hand.

Paste a channel list

One name per line, in channel order. Blank lines skip a channel and leave it untouched. Prefix a number, like 20: Lead Vox, to place a name out of order. Add (stereo) or (st) after a name to make that channel stereo, or (mono) to force it back. The marker is stripped from the name.

Channel names

Only channels active in this configuration are shown. Colors are set automatically from the channel name unless you pick one yourself.

Default groups

Names groups 1 to 8 Drums, Drums PC, Guitars, Keys, Aux Inst, Tracks, Vocals and Speaking, then assigns every named input channel to the group its name suggests. Drum shells also go to the parallel compression group; hi hats, overheads and cymbals do not. Click is never grouped, because every group here feeds the mains.

A channel lands in one family only, tested drums, aux inst, keys, guitars, speaking, vocals, then tracks. So "Bass Drum" is a drum, "Bass Trombone" is aux inst, "Bass Synth" is keys, and "Bass DI" is a guitar. "Tom 1" is a drum but a bare "Tom" is a person. Anything that fits neither guitars nor keys, like a violin or a trombone, goes to Aux Inst. Anything that matches nothing but reads like a person's name is treated as a vocal, which is a guess and worth checking below.

Bus assignment

Which destinations each input channel feeds. Click a column heading to toggle the whole column.

Verify group and matrix routing on your console before a show. Every reference file available routes channels only to the main LR bus, so assignment to groups and matrices is written by pattern rather than confirmed against a real example. Main LR assignment is confirmed. Load one test scene on the LV1 and check before relying on it.

  1. Zip the session folder first (see below). One file is far easier than a folder tree.
  2. Go to drive.google.com and drag the .zip in, or click New → File upload.
  3. Right-click the uploaded file and choose Share.
  4. Under General access, switch Restricted to Anyone with the link.
  5. Leave the role as Viewer, click Copy link, and paste it above.
Dropbox
  1. Zip the session folder first.
  2. Upload it at dropbox.com, or drop it into your Dropbox folder and wait for the sync tick.
  3. Hover the file and click Share, then Copy link.
  4. Make sure it says Anyone with this link can view, not "Only people invited".
  5. Paste the link above.
WeTransfer
  1. Zip the session folder first.
  2. Go to wetransfer.com and add the .zip.
  3. Choose Get a link rather than sending by email, so nothing depends on my inbox.
  4. Copy the link and paste it above.
  5. Note the free tier caps at 2GB and the link expires, so tell me if the session is bigger or you need longer.
OneDrive
  1. Zip the session folder first.
  2. Upload it at onedrive.com or drop it into your OneDrive folder.
  3. Right-click the file and choose Share.
  4. Click the settings gear or "Anyone with the link" and make sure it is set to Anyone, not "People in your organization".
  5. Untick Allow editing, copy the link, and paste it above.
How to zip a session folder

On a Mac

  1. Find the session folder in Finder.
  2. Right-click it and choose Compress "[folder name]".
  3. A .zip appears next to it. Upload that.

On Windows

  1. Find the session folder in File Explorer.
  2. Right-click it and choose Send to → Compressed (zipped) folder. On Windows 11 it is Compress to → ZIP file.
  3. A .zip appears next to it. Upload that.

Multitracks are large. If the zip is over a few gigabytes, upload it overnight or send a link to the folder rather than the files.
